Tell the River

I will see you again at the other end of this river
even if I must watch the seasons thrice again turn
for what is Time to a love that is born in forever
and what is Space to a light healing both together?

let my body be a vessel for the breath and the wind
as light as the air that brushes your fairest skin
my bright Star, do you know for whom you are to shine
and through which travails your fire wills its dying?

tell the river what you surrender to receive its flow
for gently does she transmute the fiery comet’s show
and gently will you walk with me beneath the moonlight
inside Elysian Fields where lovers claim their birthright.
